I can’t believe it’s already November. I feel like it’s only May still mentally ahaha. But a lot of fun things have happened this year and I’m excited to see what else is in store for me. I can’t believe I said it but I told my husband if he wanted Christmas decor out now we can do it….i can’t believe I actually said it because I have always said had a personal rule of no Christmas songs or decor until after Thanksgiving.
Anyways, in early October I finally did my first flight, first towing for paragliding and it was amazing. I got up to 2,000ft! I was definitely nervous beforehand, like the two days leading up to it, but once I was strapped in I ended up being pretty chill. I will admit it was a little intense being towed but once o did the release and was just gliding it was fantastic.
For paragliding there are 2 types of launches: a foot launch or a tow launch. Tow launch utilizes a winch, usually put on a truck or something like that, which has a line that ranges from 2,000-10,000ft long and the pilot is connect to said line until it’s time to release. The pilot will grab the release handle and it’ll pop the line off from you. Sounds crazy but it goes very smoothly for hundreds of pilots. A foot launch is a combination of using wind and the pilots own legs to get the wing flying. I haven’t done a foot launch yet but I’m excited for it when I can.
When I get done kiting or flying with paragliding I wanted a chill hobby while I sat on the couch, so I started embroidery and it’s not as easy as I thought it would be but neither was crochet when I first picked it up. I picked out a beginner set that contained plants and cats – so adorable ahaha. I will say it took me way too long to thread the needle so I need to work on that skill. I have 3 hoops to complete before Christmas so wish me luck.
