When I initially brought home this petite cactus, I couldn’t have foreseen how rapidly it would multiply. I anticipated a slow growth process, assuming it would take years to reach this stage. Yet, to my astonishment, it’s got a bunch of offspring and blooming! Opening the curtains one morning, I was greeted by a proud little flower, which significantly brightened my day.
After capturing a few photos, I delved into my collection of its initial pictures and was astounded by the transformation—so many new additions! The cactus has thrived beyond my expectations in the time I’ve cared for it, and I’m not complaining.
Next week, I plan to visit the city where I originally acquired this cactus. I might swing by the nursery to see if they have any rat tail or golden rat tail cacti to add to my collection, provided they’re reasonably priced. However, the following weekend, I won’t miss the Desert Botanical Garden’s fall plant sale—cacti temptations are irresistible.
I must remind myself that my life has undergone some changes, and I don’t want to take on too many plants that I don’t genuinely adore. This consideration stems from a few casualties and withered plants I experienced over the summer. I’m eagerly looking forward to the plants I have in mind for next year, but I’m avoiding the urge to rush into it. Despite a busier schedule than I’m accustomed to, I’m relishing the journey and have no regrets.
