I can’t believe my hoyas are starting to bloom! Honestly, I don’t think I’ve done anything special to deserve this. Sure, I may have accidentally underwatered my carnosa a few times, but now she’s surprising me with seven peduncles, and three of them are about to bloom any day now.
And you know what? I recently spotted two peduncles on my serpens, and it totally caught me off guard. I never expected it to bloom so soon under my care. I mean, I’ve only had it since March, and I thought it would take at least a year or two for it to show any signs of blooming. Even if it doesn’t fully bloom, I consider it a personal victory nonetheless!
I’m gonna be honest here, I’ve got a few hoyas on my wish list for 2024, and I’m super stoked about them. From my experience, hoyas have been fantastic additions to my collection. They’re not demanding or finicky plants that require high humidity; they simply blend in seamlessly.
By the end of summer, it’s becoming quite evident that my carnosa is in dire need of a larger trellis. It’s growing like crazy and showing no signs of slowing down. I can barely keep up with its rapid growth! As for my serpens, it’s high time to remove it from the terrarium and give it a proper trellis. I’ve been on the lookout for a suitable trellis that will do justice to its beauty. The search has been ongoing, and I’m determined to find the perfect one soon.
Honestly, I never expected to fall head over heels for hoyas, but now I totally get why people dive into them without hesitation. They are an absolute blast! The joy and excitement they bring are beyond words.
10/10 experience for me.
