I stumbled upon an orchid show happening at a nursery during the same weekend as the Central Arizona Cactus and Succulent show and sale. It was hosted at the first nursery I ever visited in Phoenix, which made it even more special for me. I was excited to see what the show had in store, even though I knew it would be smaller than the cactus show.
Accompanied by my husband, we enjoyed seeing plants that we don’t usually come across in such great conditions and size. While I was secretly hoping to spot some dracula orchids, I was in awe of the blooms and the roots growing out of their little pots.
The people attending the show were extremely friendly and enthusiastic, and I noticed more photos being taken than even at the cactus show! Unfortunately, I didn’t see any dracula orchids, but the experience piqued my interest in orchids, and I might end up picking up a couple of them. I’m considering hanging them in my kitchen or doing an entire wall of them, but realistically, a half wall like over the couch would be more practical.
I also love the idea of having a little terrarium with a bunch of super mini orchids. The show gave me so many ideas for incorporating orchids into my home, and I loved experiencing something new with my best friend.
