Putting My Hoya on a Trellis

Not too long ago, I had to figure out which trellis style would be best for my hoya plant. After considering different options, I settled on the dome/obelisk style as my favorite. However, when it came time to purchase a trellis, I ended up buying the same trellis chain link my husband had given me for my birthday last year, because it would be more practical for packing with the plant when I move.

I must admit, I don’t think I did a great job trellising my hoya. However, it seems to be working fine, as the plant is throwing out new leaves and vines left and right. To make the plant fuller and provide more support for the vines, I wound them through only a few links of the trellis, which allowed the vines to hold each other and grow from more spots on the plant.

I’ve only had the trellis chain link for a few weeks, but it’s been great to see how my hoya has responded with new growth.

Overall, I’m happy with my decision to use this type of trellis, even if it’s not the style I originally preferred.

Side note, I am making a macrame pot cover for the hoya and it’s almost done. I hope it fits well ahaha. It’s so darn cuuuuute.
