I love plants. I love learning about them, seeing new leaves emerge never get olds, and every time a plant flowers I applaud it. But I have limits on how many I want to own, but if I want to increase how many I own I need more windows. 3 is not enough ahaha and I won’t have plants in the dark.

I am always looking for the next plant, but I’m not interested in getting plants for a while, I thought if I had other hobbies that didn’t require a lot of money up front to start will give me something other than plants to make me happy or busy.

Don’t get me wrong, I am proud of my plant hobby but I just want something new and I don’t want 50+ plants ahaha.

I did a single day class of wheel throwing pottery and it was fantastic. I wasn’t great at it, barely formed a bowl or vase. It’s not a cheap hobby but I definitely want to continue it later next year if possible.

Homebody is a part of me, so a few ideas I thought of were embroidery, macrame, drawing, and crocheting.

Someone might ask shouldn’t I get outside more? I have plans for my outdoor activities. Hoping to visit The Wave in March, hike to the tallest point of Arizona in July, and maybe see the lower section of the Antelope Canyon. I just want to up my couch hobby selection ya know?

With macrame and crochet I want to make some baskets to cover ugly nursery pots! I think it would be so amazing once achieved and it was something I created. My thought is neutral colors or colors that go well with terracotta.

I have always admired those who could draw and I really want to step up my game and do a year of drawing to improve myself. It sucks a lot when I see what I create not match up with folks who have literally spent thousands of hours drawing do within 45 minutes of touching paper. I’ll get there if I work at it. Embroidery is something I found on a “find a new hobby” blog post and after following the subreddit for a few months I think I am willing to buy a beginners kit and get a feel if I truly enjoy it. I would love to embellish jeans or sweaters with cute animals peeping out of pockets or something like that.

I don’t want to be relying on my phone for entertainment all the time, so these are my ideas. Hopefully I like one really well to make it a forever hobby but I’ll find out later. I’ll have to do an updated blog pot at the end of next year to see what stuck.
