I’m not really into plants that have pinks, yellows, or white on them unless it’s succulents and cacti, but some have grown on me and one of them is the philodendron prince of orange!
My husband bought it for my birthday and it arrived directly on my birthday. It was a fun surprise to get it! Reading up on them again the philodendron prince of orange grows from the center and supposedly doesn’t need staking as it doesn’t grow in vines or stems. It’ll get about 2 feet tall and about that wide in maturity. The leaves come in orangey and as it ages it’ll go to green. So crazy what plants can do!
There is a philodendron in a event business on the main floor of my apartment building and it’s huge! I wanna say it’s a majesty variety but I could totally be wrong. It’s beautiful whatever it is!
While the prince of orange is more of a bush philodendron, I might get a stake for it so it doesn’t grow wonky, but I’ve read that this type doesn’t need staking.
I don’t have any plants that have or grown sideways besides a variegated peperomia obtusifolia but it’s already starting to straighten out as I’ve been rotating it more regularly.
Anyways, I’m hoping the philodendron doesn’t grow too fast as I dislike the idea of replacing a stake every few months if I do get one – we’ll see how fast it grows. I’ve been checking on it every day and it’s already pushing out a leaf. I will say the leaf was just a baby when I got it a week ago but it’s just unfurling and it’s adorable! I cannot wait to see this as an adult (if I don’t kill it), ahaha.
